Mangrove Trees Living on a Seawall, Creating Habitat
​Installed in 2026, these mangrove planters raise the bar for living seawalls. In collaboration with APH Marine Construction and MANG Apparel, the Reef Wall Planters are part of APH's "Hybrid Habitats," an initiative to establish living mangrove trees and artificial reefs alongside seawalls. The combination of mangrove trees and oyster reef development is the most comprehensive living seawall to date and extend the living seawall benefits by integrating Reef Arches below the planters to create habitat for fish and other species.
